31 Jul Summer, Concerts, Garden
Don`t you just love the summer months especially when the sun shines like it has been doing for weeks now! Everything in the garden is blooming and so colourful, making me very happy! I just love it.
There have been some sea frets recently which have created a rather spooky atmosphere along Longwestgate…….amazing pictures taken by Timothy Gething who came to stay for the cricket.
We have been very busy of late with guests attending concerts at the Open Air Theatre. Lionel Richie kicked off the season, followed by The Script, Gary Barlow, Steps, Alfie Boe and Noel Gallagher and his Flying Birds to name but a few. We have several more to look forward to and so far, the weather has been just gorgeous for every single show – fingers crossed!
We had a magnificent week-end for the Armed Forces Day which saw 22,000 people come to Scarborough (how they manage to count everyone is a mystery to me, but hey ho!). Not sure how Scarborough will cope when the National Armed Forces Day comes here in 2020! It will be a challenge, but I am sure we will all rise to it.
The legendary Scarborough Orchestra has been in full swing down at the Spa and has been enjoyed by many of our guests and myself included. I took our little grandson to the Teddy Bears Picnic there and so enjoyed all of it. Angus is only 3 and he just loved listening to, clapping, singing and dancing to the music. They truly are a magnificent orchestra – try and see them if you can.
We spent time on the beach along with thousands of other sun worshipers and it is pure joy to see all the families enjoying the sea, sand and sunshine – fantastic.
We have been to see the 39 Steps at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and a must for any theatre lover – it is hilarious. The cast are amazing (only 4 of them) and how they managed it, is beyond me – so worth a visit. We are looking forward to the next shows.
